MITCHELL’S INJURY.

MAY BE OUT FOR SEASON. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Aug. 16. Whether the leg injury of N. A. Mitchell will improve sufficiently to enable him to take part in any further games this season is still doubtful. At a meeting of the Southland Rugby Union to-night, Mr H. S. Strang, one of the Southland selectors, said he had inquired about Mitchell’s leg injury and had informed Mitchell that if he was desirous of “having a run” before the second Test at Christchurch, the Southland selectors would be prepared to play him in the Southland-Canter-bury game at Christchurch a week before the Test. It was not known, however whether tho New Zealand selectors’required Mitchell, whose leg was still giving him trouble.
