JUNIOR MATCH.

A Rugby match was played at Pah merston North between the Wanganui and Palmerston North P. and T. staff juniors, resulting in a win for the home team by 11 points to 9. The P. and T. Junior Football Shield w'as at stake and a return game has been arranged for September. For tho winners Gordon, Manderson and Siddells scored tries, one being converted by Manderson. Gerry and Childs scored for Wanganui, Clark kicking a penalty goal. The teams were:

Palmerston North.—Dustin; A. Bradley, A. Healy, R. Gordon; L. Manderson, B. Manderson; J. Cooper, L. Olliver, IT. Seivert, S. Marshall, C. Siddells, I. Little, M. Drake, A. Northey. Wanganui.—H. Jones; W.- P. Willis, D. Burbush, H. Robbie; P. Brenan, I. Forester; G. Gerry; It. Darsath, L. Regaivay, G. Clark, R. Parker, R. Stevens, A. Childs, O. Sherlock, A. Healy. A dinner was held in the evening, Mr G. Clark, chief postmaster at Palmerston North, acting as chairman. Mr Cole (Wanganui) handed the shield to Mr J. F. Faras, the coach of the Palmerston North team. Mr Faras took the opportunity of farewelling Mr Amos, a junior member of the Post and Telegraph Department, who left yesterday for the Morse School at Christchurch.
