LOST IN MOUNTAINS

PARTY OF SEVEN YOUNG MEN. SEARCH AT ARTHUR’S PASS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 16. A party of seven young men whose names are riot yet’known was lost last night in the mountains at Arthur e Pads. They were last seen at noon yesterday on the summit of Phipps s Peak. The party is thought to be in the bush close to illimit Peak. The lost men went to the pass in a Sunday excursion and were just missed when the train was due to leave tor Christchurch. A search was at once organised, eight members of the Canterbury Mountaineering Club being sent from Christchurch and arriving at the pass late at night. This morning the searchers totalled 25 and an organised search was commenced.
