Friday’s closing prices for raw materials were as follow, those for August 6 being shown in parentheses: Cotton. —Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 5.93 d per lb (6.20 d); September delivery, 5.72 d er lb (6.02 d). . Rubber.—Para, 9ld per lb (same); plantation smoked ribbed sheet, B|d per lb (9 l-16d). Jute. —New crop, August-September shipment, Indian jute. Dundee quotation, £2O 15s a ton (£2fl 12s 6d). Copra. —September-October shipment, sun-dried South Seas, to London or Rotterdam, £ls 2s 6d a ton (same); smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £ls a ton (£ls 2s 6d); plantation, Rabaul to London or Rotterdam, £ls 17s 6d a ton (same). i Linseed 0i1.—£32 5s a ton (same). Turpentine. —35s 9d per cwt. (365).
