THISTLE v. ROVERS

The match in which Thistle drew with Rovers was a. hard-fought one and both teams gavo of their best. K. Anderson and Holden (who scored for Rovers) were in good form and succeeded in penetrating their opponents defence on several occasions. Kempson (the Thistle goalie) proved the stumbling block, however. Rovers’ combination, although strong, showed a reluctance to open up attacks. Lyon (2), Broughton, Chilton, Gatley and Davidson (who kicked into his own goal) were the scorers for. St. Andrew’s, whose game with Athletic was like a walk-over. Led by Lyon, St. Andrew s played an .aggressive game. The referee was Mr Gcekie.
