WAITUNA WEST.
'(From Our Own Correspondent.) WAITUNA WEST, Aug. 16. A wedding which created considerable interest was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Waituna West, on July 22, when Vera, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Pearce, Konirii, Waituna West, was married to William Echis (of Palmerston North), eldest son of Mr Thomas and the late Mrs Wilson, of Gore. Tho officiating minister was Rev. J. 11. Allen. The church had been tastefully decorated with Iceland poppies and autumn foliago by friends of tho bride, and Mrs Willoughby Pearco (Sanson), aunt of the bride, played the wedding music. Tho bride entered the church with her brother Mr E. Pearce. Miss N. Pearce, sister of the bride, and Miss Marjorie A’Court, cousin of (he bride, were in attendance, as bridesmaids, while supporting the bridegroom was Mr G. Coggin, of Bcaconsfickl. as best man and Mr K. Garner, of Palmerston North, as groomsman. The bride looked charminn- in a frock of hydrangea pink crepe-deo-soir, the colour being enhanced by the vivid contrast of wineberry velvet at tho waist, neck, and sleeves. Tho skirt clung to the figure at the hips, and then gracefully swept to the feet, while the long sleeved bodice, intricately cut, was finished at the high nock line with two simple turned down points of velvet, and a cluster of '.flowers in cyclamen toning. Completing this toilette, the brido. wore a becoming hat of the deep rich wineberry velvet, and carried a beautiful bouquet of daphne, cyclamen, hellebore, .and maideilhnir fern. The bridesmaids were dresesd alike in dainty frocks of floral moire taffeta, the background of the frocks being shell pink with clusters of convulvulus in shades of deeper pink and blue, with touches of primrose. The square neckline was most effective, being outlined with light rose pink taffeta. Over the frocks the ’maids wore charming velvet capes of tho deeper shado of pink, with shoes to tone. Clusters of shell pink flowers wore worn in tho hair, ancl they carried pink bouquets. to tone, the bouquets being ninde by a freind of tho bride. After llio ceremony n- reception was held at “Ivonini,” where 80 guests were received. The tables anti drawingroom were decorated in shades of pink to match the colour scheme of tho bridal party. Mrs Pearce, mother of the bride, wore a wineberry velvet frock in tho same shade as the trimmings on the bride’s frock, with hat and shoes to tone, with a grey coat. The young couple were tho recipients of numerous gifts. Later Mr and Mrs Wilson left on their honeymoon, the brido wearing a tweed costumo in fawn, with a brown flock, and a honey-coloured jumper, with nigger brown accessories, and a fur coat..
