LONDON TAXI ROBBERY.

AUSTRALIAN GRAZIER’S LOSS.

LONDON, Aug. 2. John Regan, a retired Australian grazier, who gave his address as tho Commercial Travellers’ Club, Sydney, told Hampstead Magistrates how he was taken for a rido in a taxi and robbed of a wallet containing £GO. He gave evidence that he was hailed by a man who claimed to have known him in Manly. After they had had drinks in an hotel where the proprietor was a former West Australian goldminer, they got into a taxi with two men and a girl. There he was assaulted and flung out on to the roadway. His wallet was missing. A man and a girl were remanded in custody on a charge of theft, and a second man was remanded on charges of theft and assault.
