YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS AND PRICES, -Apart from a few sales of bank shares, all the dealings on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday covered industrial and trading issues. The markets were on the quiet side and ■ prices showed little change. Govern- . ment loans remained firm, but selling offers were hard to find. Bank shares were fairly steady, E.S. and A. goiLg at £5 17s 6dL New Zealand at 44s bd and New South "Wales at £34 17s. Union were a shade firmer at £lO, sellers £lO 2s 6d. Broken Hill Proprietary had dealings at. 83s 9d and firmed later to 84s sellers 84s 6d. Electrolytic Zinc and Mount Lyell were steady. McKenzie's Department Stores firmed to business at 86s, five parcels going at that price. Woolworths (Sydney) eased to dealings at £6 3s 6d, but later business was done at £6 ss, and buy--1 ers stayed in at £6 5s 6d, sellers asking £6 10s. G. J. Coles were weak at 96e, sellers 98s.
