(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANDON, Aug. 13. Airs J. Bowater presided over a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Sanson Women’s Institute on Tuesday evening.' Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Ellerm, F. Collier, and 11. Alasters. Airs Bowater welcomed Miss Wright, of Feilding, and other visitors. A vote of sympathy was accorded Mrs 11. Fagan in her, recent bereavement. A sixpenny “bring and buy” stall was held for the institute funds, while the competition, “Making most words out of the word institute,” was won by Airs Gidbranscn. The roll call for the evening .was “Aly most awkward moment.” Members wore reminded of the forthcoming group meeting at, Halcombe. An interesting talk was given by Aliss Wright (Feilding) about Switzerland, where ohe spent many years of her early life.' A vote of thanks was accorded Aliss Wright, the evening closing with tlie National Anthem. Air A. C. Ncsbit, was host at the fortnightly euchre and cribbage evening held early in the week. The winners of the ouchro competition were Aliss N. Forrest and Air L. Cockburn; consolation, Aliss D. Seanlan and Mr F. Hill. Air A. Hope was the winner of tho cribbage sertion and the consolation went to Air H. Gifkine.
