PAHIATUA, Aug. 12.
Bro E McKenzie, N.G., presided over a meeting of the Loyal Mangatainoka Lodee M.U., 1.0.0. F., this week. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to the judges of the ritual competition. A visit to the Loyal Woodville Lodge was deferred for consideration on quarter night. It was decided to conclude the Park Challenge Shield games at the end of September. ■ A rowan (mountain ash) tree was planted at the Pahiatua District High School yesterday to celobrate Arbor Day. Mr G. Godfrey Taylor, chairman of the committee, and a "pupil elected from each class planted the tree. The men’s modal round played by the Pahiatua Golf Club resulted : A division, D. Howden. 83 —12 —71. B division, E. Broughton 92—35—57. The following handicap reductions have been made: E. Broughton 35 to 28, R. J. Gregory 33 to 30.
