YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES.
A further easing trend in Woolworths was noticeable on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, dealings being reported at down to £6 3s. Broken Hill Proprietary, Electrolytic Zinc, and Mt. Lyol 1 wore also easier, in sympathy with the trend of the base metals market. Trading was in moderate volume, and tho markets were generally quiet. Government loans wore mostly firm on a continued strong demand. Bank shares were dull, but New Zealand were 3d firmer on business at 44s 9c 1. South British Insurance, which have been steadily advancing in recent weeks, sold at £5.
