(From Our Own Correspondent.) MILSON, Aug. 12. On Tuesday evening the B grade team from the Hokowhitu Table Tcnws Club visited Meson for their match in the second round of the competitions. On Wednesday afternoon a presentation was made to Mrs W. Templeton by members of the arts and crafts circle of the Mi'son Women’s. Institute. Mrs Renwiek (convener of the circle) asked • Mrs Templeton to arcept a pair of gloves in appreciation of the many services rendered to the circ'e.
There was a good attendance present in the Milson Hall on Wednesday evening, when members of the drama, folk dancing, amt singing circles held a. social and dance. The plavs and items held at the. recent Drama Festival were presented, all the items being well received. Mr F. Murphy was M.C.
During the week a team from the Bun nvthorpe School visited Mi'son for a friendly game of foo’hal! with the local lads. Milson won by 14 points to nil. Fot the home team W. Bennetto scored two tries. Collett and Austin one, while L Wright converted one A team of basket ball girls from Bnnnythorpo a'so visited Milson and won by 15 points to 9. Mis>Ashby was the referee for the first half arid Miss Landers for the second. Mr M. McEwen refereed the football match.
The ciuai'terly meeting of the Milson Progressive- Association was held in I life hall! those present being Messrs Johnston (chairman). Bcmietto (secretary). Feeban. Ferguson, Wright, Young. Cunwiing. and Snellgrove. It was decided to send a letter to the Manau’atu Automobile A-serialion asking that school speed boards he erected at each end of Montreal Street. A letter is also to he sent to the radio inspector complaining of short-wave in‘erf- rmoo from the set at the aerodrome. A eolloet'on of rubbish is to be taken at an early date. Arrangements for the school ball are w'oll in hand. On Thursday afternoon Mr M. R. McEwen (headmaster), on behalf of the teachers and children, presented Miami Mrs F. G. Murphy with a beautiful crvstal vase for their assistance at all ttinies. Mrs Murphy has given great heln to the children’with the music practices of the balls. •
