HOCKEY.

WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT. An open seven-a-side hockey tournament was held on the Marton Park, on Wednesday, under the auspices of the Rangitikei Hockey Sub-Association. The tournament was the largest of its kind ever to he held in Rangitikei, teams from Taihape, Palmerston North, Paraparaumu, Otaki, and representatives from the local club 6 taking part. The winner was Otaki A, who defeated Broadway (Palmerston North) in the final by 1 goal to nil, the goal being scored just on time. 'Pile results are as follow: Section A.—Otaki A (W. Budge) 1 v. Tutaenni 0; Otaki B (W. Budge 2, Hakaraia 2, L. Seal 1) 5 v. United B 0; Tutaenui (M. Warren, F. Wood) 2v. United 80. Section winners: Otaki A 4 points. Section B.—Whiti Tama (Taihape) 0 v. Broadway (Palmerston North) 0; Whiti Tama 6 v. Kia Ora A 0; Broadway (P. Hancox, H. Griffin) 2 v. Halcombe 0; Kia Ora A (E. Good, M. Bush) 2 v. Halcombe 0; Halcombo 0 v. Whiti Tama 0; Broadway (H. Griffin) 1 v. Ivia Ora 0. Section winners: Broadway, 5 points. Section C.—United A (J. McTndoo, V. Hunt) v. Kia Ora B (E. Hicks; 1; United A (I. Mclndoe) 1 v. Otaki B 0. Section winners: United A, 4 points. Semi-finals.—Otaki A (B. Hakaraia) 1 v. United AO.
