TWENTY DEATHS.

Received August 13, 12.35 p.m. NEW YORK, Aug. 12. Between 18 and 21 were killed and three seriouslv injured following tne doll apse of a high wooden dwelling on a hillside. The foundations were undermined in a thunderstorm and a flooded sewer backed up Bft of ivatei against the building. The occupants sensed disaster, but were unable to quit the building and called for the police. A rescue squad of policemen entered by means of a ladder, but immediately afterwards the structure collapsed. _
