The anticyclone which has been covering the Dominion during the past few days is wow centred to the eastward, while a shallow area of relatively low pressure is moving on to the southern portion of the South Island. Pressure is high over the whole of the Australian and New Zealand areas. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds hilt nortlierlies prevailing. Weather fair to fine and mild. Seas slight to moderate. RIVER GAUGE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Noon. —2ft. 9in.
