FIRE AT LIME WORKS.

Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Aug. 12. A fire at the Waitotara lirflcworks was discovered at one o’clock this morning. There was ample water but there were no pumping appliances. The Wanganui Brigade sent two men out with an engine and saved half the works, also the permanent way and the power lines. Considerable damage was done to the machinery. The insurances are unavailable. A new plant that was recently ordered has not arrived yet. Work is expected to start again shortly.
