REFEREES APPOINTED.
MATCHES WITH SPRINGBOKS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 11. The chairman of the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union (Mr S. S. Dean) stated to-night that the New Zealand team for the first Test match would probably be released to-morrow night. The following referees ha.ve been appointed by the Referees’ Appointment Board of the New Zealand Rugby Union to officiate in matches to be played by the South African team: August 18: v. Marlborough, Mr A. Gordon, Manawatu.- 0 August 21: v. Canterbury, Mr J. »• King, Wellington. _ r . „ August 25: v. West Coast, Mr A. B. Rowlands, South Canterbury. August 28: v. South Canterbury, Mr N. Eggleton, West Coast. September 8: v. Southland, Mr N. O. Tilly, Otago. September 11: v. Otago, Mr A. E. Austin, Southland.
