KILLING OF CHILDREN. SAN FRANCISCO, July 29 There were two extraordinary kill ings of children bv their parents in the Western United States to-day. Dr. Guy Peterkm, one of the most prominent physicians of Seattle, shot his son. aged 22. a brilliant student, who, after a nervous breakdown, became incurably ill. Dr. Peterkm then committed suicide with a pistol. Mrs Marie Walknn, 30, of Flagstaff, Arizona, who was ill and despondent about the difficulties of bringing up her four children, strangled or stabbed them to death as they slept bhe then committed suicide with a rifle. _ Both parents left pathetic notes insisting that what they had done was best for their children.
