MONTHLY MUSICALE

VISITORS PRESENT FROM. WANGANUI. The sixth annual staff balAf Woolworths, Ltd. (Palmerston North branch), proved most successful when it was held in the Jade ballroom last night, there being a gratifying attendance. The visitors included members of the staff of the Wanganui branch.

The committee responsible for organising the function so capably consisted of Miss M. Schlierike, who wore rose eloque; Miss Helen Williams, cherry flowered moire; and Miss C. Murray, the secretary, turquoise blue cloque; the male members of the committee being Messrs J. Cornwell and T. Mills.

Pleasure was afforded by Miss Kathleen O’Connor and partner, who gave a graceful demonstration of’rthe slow foxtrot and quickstep. Miss O’Connor looked charming in a frock of black spotted net. Among the many present were:— Misses Cook, who wore salmon pink and black taffeta; E. McCormick, white spotted ctepe; D. Bishop, mauve satin; V. Y/nisker, cream lace; D. Page, rose satin and net; P. O’Neill, pale green taffeta; Buiek, black organdie; Mrs 1. Brown, midberry cuenille velvet, finished with diamante ; Misses S. Fennell, navy crepe-de-ebine, trimmed with silver; Z. Coppins, Wallis blue lace with sequitied touches; Gwen L<x<> ivory taffeta cocktail suit, black lace skirt; B. Waters, floral patterned green tunic, black stain beaute skirt; H. Pitt (Wanganui), blue patterned marocain, white velvet coatee; M. Collins, midnight blue satin, silver stitched trimmings; N. Bullock (Wanganui), blue organdie; J. Wood, eau-de-nil chiffon over satin; E. Marchant; L. Roberts, peach bloom lace and satin, with gold accessories; Mrs J. F. Williams (Wanganui), black lace and velvet; Misses J. Young (Wanganui), cerise ribbed taffeta and coatee to match; C. Young (Wanganui), electric blue tree hark satin; Messrs R. L. Brown, H. A. Mullins, D. Coughlin, E. Stokes, C. Marshall, L. Grant, J. Faulkner, B. Greenfield, C. Hornt J. F. Williams, A. D. Ltcbbie and R. Putt (of Wanganui)
