Mrs A. J. McEvedy mid the Misses McEvedy are Palmerston North visitors to Wellington.

Mrs D. G. Cameron, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs W. T. Marshall, of Karori, Wellington. Mrs N. C. Armstrong, of Palmerston North, is visiting Wellington.

Mrs Winston Young, who lias spent a year in England and Australia, is arriving in Wellington on August 16 from Sydney. Mrs M. Raleigh, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs F. McKenzie, of Taumarunui.

Mr and Mrs C. Drtibe, of Auckland, left for Wellington yesterday after visiting Palmerston North for a few days. A first-class scholarship from the Australian School of Sketching has been awarded to Miss S. McKay, of Hastings.

A motion of sympathy with Mr "V. Gerrand in the death of his wife was passed at last evening’s meeting of the Manawatu Hockey Association.Miss Judy Christian, of Palmerston North, is spending a holiday as the guest of Mr and Mrs C. M. Stanley, of Apiti, in order to convalesce after her recent illness.

Advice ’ has been received by Miss Gwen Gibbs, organiser for the Royal Academy in this district, that Mr Felix Demery, who has again been appointed examiner for the Royal Academy of Dancing tin's year, will arrive in New Zealand on September 13 and should bo in Palmerston North shortly afterward.
