THE SPRINGBOKS MATCH.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —As one who was present at the football match, Manawatu v. Springboks, let me endorse “Disgusted’s” vicijjs. The Springboks were allowed to got away with far too much offside play and the scrums were just about the last word. I had been warned what to expect by a man who saw the Taranaki match. “Disgusted” is quite correct when he says that the scrums were screwed —that the ball did not go in when the Springlwks had it, the 'referee being on the other side. If this sort of thing is to be allowed in the Tests those who are expecting to see the All Blacks put up a good show with a fair chance will be 6adly disappointed. They might just ns well stay at home and save their money. Apart from what it cost me to get to Palmerston North to the match I had to pay six shillings to see that ex.libitum'Oil 'Wediiesdny.—l am. etc., fed-up:
