FIRM IN LONDON. The butter market closed firm on Friday, New Zealand being quoted at 1199 to 120 s a cwt, the highest price recorded this year. The 'Primary Products Marketing Department reports Friday’s closing prices as follow, those for the previous week being shown in parentheses: New Zealand. —Salted. 119 s. ex 120 s (118 s to 119 s; a year ago. 116 s to 118 s); unsalted,, 119 s to 120 s (119 s to 120 s; a year ago, li7s to 118 s). ■Australian. —Salted, 117 sto 118 s (117 s); unsalted, 118 s (117 s to 118 s). Dutch. —Unsalted, 112 s to 114 s (1123 to 114 s). Irish.—Creamery, salted, 1203 (119 s). Danish.—lo4s f.o.b. : 124 spot (104 s; 1245) Siberian.—Salted, 113 s to 114 s. Ukranian. —Salted, 113 s to 114 s. The retail price of New Zealand butter in London was Is 2d, but wa-s expected to advance yesterday to Is 3d a lb. Danish butter advanced last week to Is 3d. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week totalled 1299 tom. The quantity of New Zealand butter in store, including 3925 tons ex Tamaroa and Port Cha.mers, just, arrived, was 4643 tons, as against 4883 tons a year ago. The quantity in store (including 5506 crates ex Port Chalmers) was 40,451 crates, as against 79,984 crates a year ago.
