MONTHLY MEETING Ac the monthly meeting of tho W.D.F.U. Mrs 11. H. Buchanan presided. Apologies for absence were received from Miss Mayo, Mesdamcs W. H. Booth, T. Watson, E. Green, McDowall and V. Remington- Jones. The housekeeping secretary reported that seven applications for housekeepers and two for tho sewing woman had been received during the month. Mrs Ycnncll and Mrs L. Suqual were elected new members. A welcome was extended to Mrs A. H. Prouse, who lias been ill for some time. It was decided to hold a bridge evening. The secretary gave a report on tho recent ronforcncc at Wellington, dealing with remits which had neon passed. Tho president also spoke on the conference, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to these ladies.
