WRESTLING
LITTLE WOLF BEATEN. McCREADY WINS BY PENALTIES. Per Press Association. • CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 9. The entry of the police into the ring ended to-night’s bout, McCready versus Little Wolf. McCready won by two falls to one, taking both his falls as penalties against the Indian. Little Wolf persisted in elbow jolts, slaps and punches on the face when the referee ordered him to break and for this infringement the jrenalties were given against him. The wrestlers appeared fairly evenly matched in strength, hut the Indian showed cunning and put his fearful deathlock several times on McCready by cleverly-laid traps. It was with the deathlock that he gained his fall. Fighting was fierce in the sixth and seventh rounds, the bout ending in the seventh, when Little Wolf persisted in punishing McCready about the face when the referee ordered a break.
BLOMFIELD v. KIIULINKO. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 9. A single and rather unusual tyjie of fall gave Lofty Blomfield the decision over Matros Ivirilinko in a professional wrestling contest to-night at the Town Hall. In the sixth round Kirilinko dumped Blomfield hard and lifted him to repeat the coup. As he looked likely to deposit him over the ropes, the referee (Mr Alf. Jenkins) hauled iKirilinko backwards, whereupon he overbalanced and fell underneath Blomfield. The latter promptly pinned /.ill. Kirilinko gave a fine demonstration of speed and cunning, while Blomfield interspersed his usual solid tactics with a leavening of elbow jolts.
