REQUEST TO THE TIMES. REPRESENTATIVE TO GO. ' NOT WANTED IN BERLIN. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 10, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 9. The Daily Telegraph’s Berlin correspondent says that ns a reprisal for the expulsion of the three German journalists from England the Government has requested the Times to replace within a fortnight its experienced popular chief representative and former president of the. Foreign Press Association, Mr Norman Ebbutt, substituting a correspondent more acceptable to Germany. The Times diplomatic correspondent announces that the Charge d'Affaires, Herr Woennann, in the absence of the Ambassador, Herr von Ribbentrop, called at the Foreign Office regarding the expulsions and requested that the Foreign Office inform the Times that the German Government desired Mr Ebbutt’s removal. Failing his withdrawal within a fortnight, the German Government would proceed with his expulsion.
