GENERAL FRANCO.

OBLIGATIONS TO ITALY AND GERMANY, Rev. Father W. Nichol, of Kyogle, New South "Wales, who recently returned from Spain, was asked, at the conclusion of a lecture to the Sydney Legacy Club, whether it was true that General Franco had promised Italy and Germany concessions of territory in return for the assistance they had given him. “I asked General Franco that question,” Father Nichol replied, “and I had his assurance that lie had made no promise to cede territory to either country. His only obligations to any foreign country are financial.”
