LAW ON ADOPTION.

IMPORTANT ENGLISH RULING. J LONDON, Aug. 2. In an important legal decision today, Mr Justice Luxmoore allowed a wife to adopt her 19-year-old illegitimate daughter. The husband and wife, who were both less than 21 years older than the girl, applied for the adoption, but the Judge said that while the wife and daughter were wthin the defined degrees of consanguinity," the husband, was not, although he was in a similar degree of affinity. However, the husband consented to the girl’s adoption by the wife alone, and the Judge ruled that the Act was satisfied.
