Mr Matsuoka, president, of the South Manchuria Railway Company, states that the liquefaction of coal in commercial quantities will be started shortly through a process invented at the Japanese Naval fuel depot at Tokuyama. He estimates that there will eventually be an annual production of 300,000 tons of oil by this method.
