DEADLOCK ENDED.
NEWCASTLE MINERS’ DECISION. Received August 9. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 9. The deadlock which has held the Broken Hill Proprietary collieries in the Newcastle district idle for more than a week has ended. Members of the Miners’ Federation employed at the three pits—John Darling, Bur wood and Lambton—have decided to give the guarantee recommended by the miners’ central council that there will be no more stay-in strikes at their mines pending the completion of negotiations between the Miners’ Federation and the New South Wales coalowners on the subject of wages and conditions.
