RICCARTON TRACK WORK. ARRIVALS FROM SOUTH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Aug. 9.. Conditions wore ideal for work at Riocarton this morning. The ground had dried up over tho week-end and the outside of the trial grass track provided good going. It was freely patronised, but many horses did only useful work. Roy Bun beat Mothor-in-Law over six furlongs in 1.20 4-5. Rockingham and Liane took 53 3-ssec. for half a mile. Bay Duke was to have galloped half a mile alone, but joined Tho Wrecker and Cerne Abbas, the three coming homo in 51 2-ssec. Grey Honour_and Fakanui dashed up the back in 49 2-ssec. , , Miracle, Aggravate and Silver Sight did half a mile up the back in 51sec, a time that Greek Gold and Matoru equalled. Concertpitch had Pelmet for a mate in a run down the straight. Dictate was in front of Palmyra after half a mile in 50 2-sscc. Royal Limond and Burglar did a working gallop once round. The Surgeon and Rose of Traleo did half a mile in 54sec. Big Dook and Grampian sprinted up the back in 523ec. Silver Streak did three furlongs down the straight. , . Rousseau beat Swordstick over half a mile in 51scc. JoJy Beggar and Monastic did seven furlongs in 1.37. Queen of Song and Made Money, going easily, took 54sec. for half a mil© along the back, where Araboa and Toreador registered 52 l-ssec. , Lustral, with Waitaha as a mate early, did five furlongs in 1.6. Rebel Chief did three furlongs up the back in 38sec. ~ Sohvit dashed over three furlongs up the back in 37 3-sscc„ while Old Surrey did half a mile in 53sec. .. A large number of other horses did useful tasks, some on the grass and others on the sand. THE JUMPERS.
