SOCIETY GAMBLING DEN RAID. NEW YORK, July 29. More than 100 wealthy society people were caught in a police raid on a most exclusive Long Island gambling den. Their names have been kept secret. Police seized £20.000 in cash and a large amount of equipment. The money will be distributed among the poor of the district. The coup was the climax of efforts over a period of threo .Teal's to obtain evidence against the gambling resort. Mahogany furniture and panelling, silk hangings, Oriental rugs, and rare silver and glassware contributed to an atmosphere of extreme luxury.
