The Governor-General, Viscount Gal-j way, will l>o present at the Springboks match this afternoon. In the evening he will attend the annual dinner of the New Zealand Company of Master Mariners, stated a Press Association telegram from Wellington this morning.

Mr P. Hardie, son of Mr and Mrs J. R. Hardie, of Palmerston North, who has been assistant purser on. the staff of the Union Steam Ship Company, has been appointed to the Awatea and left Auckland for Australia by that vessel yesterday. Mr A. L. C. Wilson, first assistant teacher at the Napier Intermediate School, has been appointed to the headmastership of the Eketaliuna District High School, and will take over his new duties on September 0. Mr E. J. Thomas, of Stratford, will take over his duties at the Napier Intermediate School.
