CONTRASTS.-The completion of a great engineerig enterprise and the beginning of an international exhibition; the pageantry of the ancient Garter ceremony, and the beauty of the parks in the heart of Lodon. (1) Battleships of the United States Fleet steaming in to San Francisco under the Golden Gate Bridge, which was opened for traffic on May 27. (2) A pageant which for richness and splendour was second only to the Coronation ceremony look place in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, on June 14, when there was held the first gathering in the chapel for 23 years of the Knights of the Garter. Above is a view of the procession to the chapel (3) The cahrm of London in ammer. Here the pupils of a school of dancing are giving an exhibition on the leafy banks of the Serpentine in Hyde Park. (4) Steel hats, silk hats, banners and bayonets were in evidence at the inauguration of the Paris International Exhibition. Here President Lebrun and other dignitaries are leaving the Trocadero Palace after the formal dedication ceremony.
