YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES.
There was a stronger tone ort the Wei iington Stock and share markets yesterday. apd gains vvero registered by several issues. Trading was more active and an improved turnover was recorded. Government loans were generally firmer, and several sales were made. Bank shares vvero dull and financial and pastoral issues were steady on a quiet demand. Union Steam, preference. ■ were firm on business at 26s 6d. In the industrial section Broken Hill Proprietary improved, five parcels selling at 84s and another at 83s 9d. Buyers stayed in at 84s, sellers asking 3d bettor. Electrolytic Zinc, Mount Lyell, and Barrier reacted to the firmer metals market. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
