MERGERS OPPOSED
NORTHLAND LOCAL BODIES. Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, JulyC. Following the visit of Hon. \V. E. Parry, representatives of Northland local bodies met in Whangarei yesterday to discuss amalgamation and passed a resolution expressing their opposition. The conference was of the opinion that the areas of the present counties of North Auckland were sufficiently large to operate efficiently under separate local bodies and they could see no good results from amalgamation. The resolution was circulated to the local bodies for ratification.
