SEQUEL TO COLLISION.
CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES. The sequel to a motor collision which occurred on the Foxton-Sanson Road on September 5 List was heard belore Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, to-day, when Mrs Ethel Irene Short, of Carnarvon (Mr A. M. Onglev). claimed £7S 4s 6d in damages from L. Whiting, picture theatre manager, of Opunake, and his wife, Mrs B. M. Whiting-(Mr H. It. Cooper). Plaintiff alleged that either of the defendants, by them agent, had been negligent, thereby causing the accident. Her el a'l.l consisted of £o3 4s 6d for repairs to her ear, £5 for the loss of its use, £lO for depreciation, and £lO general damages. Defendants alleged negligence on the part ot plaintiff, and counter-claimed for £6* (5s 6d. . . Outlining the ease for plaintiff -Mr Onglev said that she was driving home along" the Rongotea-Makowhai Road and about to cross the Foxton-Sandon Road when the accident occurred. Her ear was pushed sideways and turned on its hood. Defendants’ car skidded for 24 yards after the impact and then turned over on its side. After brief evidence had been given on* behalf of both parties, the Magistrate gave judgment for plaintiff on both the clam and the counter-claim, awarding her £63 4s bd, \\ ith £4 13s coists.
