EXTENDING THE USE OF THE PARACHUTE. —The parachute, originally designed as a safety measure in air travel, much the same as the lifebuoy at sea, is now being used in military aviation for the purpose of dropping supplies, ammunition, and, in Russia, even whole regiments. R.A.F. pilots dropping messages and supplies from Hawker Hector machines during manoeuvres.
