Sister Ivy Jones forwarded a letter in appreciation of the box of clothing sent recently to be distributed among (lie Maoris, among whom Sister Jones is engaged in mission work. An invitation was received to attend a missionary convention to he he.cl in I'eilding at an e-arlv. elate. The mi-oicnary hex was opened, the coiitinlis amounting lo £1 6s. It was agreed to divide tins between the Kurahuna Home and the medical fund. 'The hostesses for the August meeting are Mosdamcri Tunnielilfe and Finlay. Residents of the district will regret to learn of the death ol Mrs G. Hay ward, sour., which occurred in the Palmerston North Hospital to-day. The relatives have the deepest sympathy of the residents of Ashhurst.
