Four men who admitted 40 charges involving sustenance frauds on Friday—William Albert Sutherland, Douglas Robert Forrester; AndrewLee Baird and Hugh AY ilsnn Gray—were to-day sentenced to three days’ imprisonment, which they have already served while on remand, and were admitted to probation for twelve months. Air H. AA r . Bundle, S.AI., also directed that they should make restitution of the money secured by the false declarations.
The ATagistrate said' that the legislature did not provide imprisonment as a penalty if the charge were made under the Unemployment. Act. A number of charges had been brought under that Act and, as far as the Court was concerned, those were the first brought under the Justices of the Peace Act.
