BELLIGERENT RIGHTS.
BRITISH OPPOSITION,
LONDON, July 2. Mr R. A. Eden stated in the House of Commons that there was no question of an agreement granting belligerent rights being reached at to-day’s meeting of tlie Non-Intervention Committee. Tlie Government would continue to press for the withdrawal of foreign' combatants. He was not in a position to make a statement of the Government policy in the event of nonintervention breaking down. Mr Llovd George: As a most serious decision vitally affecting British interests may he taken before the House reassembles on Monday, will Mr Eden make a statement this afternoon? Mr Eden: If T can. hut I doubt whether it will be possible to say any-
thing beyond the committee's official report until Cabinet considers the situation.
