It links up the Napier-Waikokopu section of the East Coast railway. Top right: The Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, driving the last rivel in the huge viaduct. Immediately behind him is the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. C. Sullivan. On the left: Mr. Semple addressing the assembled residents, workers and school children from a dais when he performed the official opening. Below: A view of the completed structure.
