SCHEME DEFENDED.

KOI BOLTON IIOAD RAMP

The Mayor of Feilding (Mr T. Collins) has been advised by Hon. H. G. R. Mason that it has been decided to defer the erection of a ramp over the level-crossing in Ivimbolton Road. The letter stated that it was proposed to defer for some time the construction of the ramp. “In any case I can assure you that the work will not proceed until I have had the opportunity of discussing the matter with you,” the Minister added. This is the first word heard-on the subject of the proposed ramp since the Feilding Borough Council registered an emphatic protest against the proposal of the Public Works Department. At that time the Mayor invited the Minister of Public Works to visit Feilding with the object of investigating the position, and while there were indications that such a visit would be made early in May last nothing transpired.
