NATIONAL PARTY
DELIBERATIONS OF POLICY. PROGRESS AT CAUCUS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 2. The two-day caucus of the National Party under the chairmanship of the leader, Hon. Adam Hamilton, concluded at Wellington to-night. All members of the party were accounted for and reports received from all parts of the country indicated substantial progress. Mr Hamilton declared that the organisation had reached a state of efficiency never before approached in his experience. A very large number of new branches have been formed and members who have been engaged on a Dominion campaign reported a big swing toward the National Party, particularly in tho dairying districts and larger centres The principal business engaging the attention of the caucus during its two days’ deliberations was that of policy. Considerable progress was made and the matter will lie finalised when the Dominion Council meets. Special committees were set up to consider various subjects and a number of remits and suggestions from various branches and business and pastoral organisations were collated and dealt with in preparation for the Dominion Council meeting. It is expected that Mr Hamilton will be in a position to give an outline of tho policy at the annual conference of the party next month. The meeting placed on record its appreciation of the great progress made bv the party under the leadership of Mr Hamilton.
