SPANISH BELIEF.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Some weeks ago the Service Council of the Society of Friends appealed for help for the Spanish refugee children. Over £SOO has already been remitted as a result of the appeal made at that time but, alas, the position is now even more acute. To the Press reports as to tho plight of these unfortunate children nothing need be added to emphasise the undiminished urgency of their case. To have started relief to the needy children and to be unable to continue it is a possibility too horrible to contemplate and it is proposed to keep the fund open. All moneys received are remitted without any deduction for expenses and are dealt with solely by the executive of the Friends’ Service Council, London. Donations, which will be acknowledged individually, may be made l to the undersigned.—l am, etc., EDWARD I-T. DOWSETT, Secretary to the Society of Friends (Quakers) in Wellington and Hawke’s Bay. 5 Ponsonby Rd., Karon, Wellington.
