STERLING EXCHANGE HIGHER
NOTE ISSUE DECREASED,
Proportion of reserve (No. 7 less No. 5) to notes and other demand liabilities, 79.012 per cent, as compared with 78.457 per cent, on June 21.
Sterling exchange shows an increase of £365,419 bringing the total up to £21,542,638. Gold remains unchanged at £2,801,791. Subsidiary coin amounts to £117,273, an increase of £7817. Advances to the State dairy industry account amount to £4,(54,993, a decrease of £151,348. Advances to the State for other purposes are still unchanged at £200,000. Investments show no change at £2,906,450. Other assets amount to £75,922, a decrease of £17,971. The bank’s note issue totals £12,630,838, showing a further decrease of £128,256.
Demand liabilities to the State at £7,361,047 show a decrease of £281,060. The trading banks’ reserve balances total £9,824,089, ail increase of £612,322. Other demand liabilities amount to £994,985, an increase of £44,871. Other liabilities, at £88,106 show a decrease of £43,959. The statement balances at £32,399,066, an increase of £203,917.
