Pressure remains rather high in the south from the Tasman Sea to beyond New Zealand. Forecast: Moderate to strong southeasterly winds reaching gale force in places. Weather cold and changeable with intermittent rain and some heavy falls' east of the ranges. Snow on the high levels. Temperatures cold. Seas rough. RIVER GAUGE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Noon.—3ft.
