BISHOP’S PROTEST.
NAZI PRESS PROPAGANDA. LONDON, June 29. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph reports that on behalf of the Roman Catholic Church throughout Germany, the Bishop of Berlin (Count von Preysing) in a letter to Herr Hitler, protests against “the flood of filthy and indecent suggestions filling Nazi newspapers, sowing the seed of anti-Christian hatred and resulting in the destruction of crucifixes, an attempt on the life of the Archbishop of Munich (Cardinal Michel Faulhaber) and the demolition of altars.
“I ask that the exploitation of immorality trials for propaganda purposes shall cease,” the bishop adds.
