Now it is believed to have been carved out by moving ice Above are two of the "step" in the great canyon ; in the foreground Vernal Fall, and, upstream at right, Nevada Fall. The huge bluff in the centre is Liberty-Cap, which rises 2000 feet above the floor of the valley. (2) Cathedral Spire, which was climbed in 1934 by three men, one of whom can h ere b e seen approaching the top. 2154 feel high. (3) Vernal Fall, one of the most beautiful scenes in the Yosemite Valley.
