WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

_ Business was quieter on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, a smaller turnover being recorded. Prices showed little change, hul one 41 r two issues showed a firemer tendency. Government loans wore quietly steady. Bank shares displayed a firmer trend, New Zealand shares selling at 44s 6d with more wanted at 44s 7d and holders asking 44s lOd. Commercial of Australia improved a shade. Insurance issues wore dull, Queensland being reported sold at 58s 6d. Industrial and trading issues were generally quiet. N.Z. Breweries improved to 495, with no response from sellers. Kaiapoi Woollen had sales at 13s 6d. Broken Hill Proprietary were quiet at BOIS 6d. sellers 80a 9d. Dunlop Perdriau were firm a.t. 22a del, sellers 22a Bd. C. J. Coles had business at £5 2s 6d to £5 ,2s 3d, and eased to £5 Is 9d, sellers £5 2s. Macduffs, prof, were firm at 25a, sellers asking 28s.
