HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.

The executive of the Feilding Hockey Association held a meeting last night. It was decided to commence the women’s competitions on the racecourse on Saturday next. The fixtures will bo published later in the week. A match is to he played here on July 31 against Rangitikei Sub-Association ioi tiic McKelvie Cup. A report on the grounds at Victoria Park was received, which stated that the work of improvement is going on satisfactorily. Accounts in connection with the King’s Birthday tourney were passed for payment and showed the tourney was a financial success. For their services the umpires were thanked, and they were notified that theory and practical examinations are to he Held shortly.
